Spring: the season of blooming flowers and winter depression slowly packing its bags.
It’s the time of year when everyone suddenly remembers their closet exists and starts their annual spring cleaning. And yes, I too have gotten mine done two big bags of clothes, to be exact (cue the annnual I have nothing to wear). But this year, it’s not just about clearing out sweaters I’ve been pretending I’ll wear again.
This spring, I’m cleaning house in more ways than one. We’re talking inside-out gut, mind, digital space, routines, the works.
Let’s start with the gut (because, of course). I’m cutting back on gluten this month yes, my sourdough starter is in full panic mode as am I. No, I’m not breaking up with bread forever. I’ll still be baking (and testing cookie recipes, obviously), but I won’t be indulging as much as usual.
This isn’t a diet at least I am not treating it as one but more of a science experiment. A small study for myself (and my three readers) to see if gluten is the sneaky little bloat bandit causing my stomach to feel like a balloon. Inside my apartment, I’m aiming for a gluten-free-ish lifestyle. Outside? We’re free to indulge. Because balance.
Since this is an experiment, I’ll be tracking how I feel throughout the month miserable or not and when April ends, I’ll report back. The bloating, the cravings, the mood, the gut all of it. So stay tuned for part two of “Is Gluten Actually Ruining My Life or Am I Just Dramatic?” coming soon...
